NZZ Reader Trip: Paris Opera magic between the Bastille and the Palais Garnier

Day 1: Switzerland – Paris

We travel to Paris by first-class TGV. On arrival, we enjoy a delicious three-course lunch including drinks in a restaurant steeped in tradition. We then check in to our rooms at the luxurious 5-star Hotel Sofitel Le Scribe Paris Opéra. The rest of the afternoon is at your leisure for your first individual discoveries around the Opéra Garnier and the elegant boulevards.

Day 2: Paris & Opera Werther

In the morning, a comprehensive city tour introduces us to the finest sights of Paris. Passing the Champs-Élysées, the Eiffel Tower, the Arc de Triomphe and many other landmarks, we experience the diversity of the French capital. To set the mood for the evening at the opera, we enjoy an aperitif with delicate canapés at the hotel. We then attend Massenet's Werther at the Opéra Bastille, seated in the 1st category.

Day 3: Paris & Louvre & Concert Piotr Beczała

In the morning, a guided tour introduces us to the most important masterpieces of the Louvre. The afternoon is at your leisure, inviting you to stroll, shop or visit a café. Before the concert, we meet for an aperitif at the hotel. In the evening, the song recital by Piotr Beczała awaits us in the magnificent Palais Garnier, one of the most beautiful opera houses in the world.

Day 4: Paris – Switzerland

After breakfast, we leave Paris and begin our journey home on the comfortable Car Rouge Premium coach. Along the way, we enjoy a lunch together in an idyllically situated restaurant in Burgundy. With many unforgettable impressions of this very special music and culture trip, we return to Switzerland.
