NZZ Reader Trip: Munich Opera Festival Opera Maria Stuarda
Munich combines great opera with royal history and Bavarian joie de vivre. As part of the Munich Opera Festival, you will experience Donizetti's masterpiece «Maria Stuarda» at the Bavarian State Opera. Day 1: Switzerland – Munich

Afterwards, you will attend Gaetano Donizetti's «Maria Stuarda» at the Bavarian State Opera, one of the great masterpieces of Italian bel canto.
Day 3: Munich & Optional Opera
In the morning, you will visit the Munich Residenz, for centuries the seat of the Bavarian dukes, prince-electors and kings. On a guided tour, you will discover the magnificent. The afternoon is yours to enjoy. In the evening, you have the option of experiencing Richard Strauss's «Ariadne auf Naxos» at the Gärtnerplatztheater.
Day 4: Munich - Switzerland
After breakfast, it is time to say goodbye to Munich. With many musical and cultural impressions, you begin the comfortable journey back to Switzerland.
